Para START sport training program

Para START is a sports training program, providing one-on-one and group-based training to anyone with a disability. We specialise in individuals with high support needs and in the sports of swimming, athletics, strength and conditioning.

Program Details

The Para START program caters for beginners, right up to competition-level athletes. So, whether your goal is to just have fun or work towards competitions, we can help you.

Our qualified staff can work safely and effectively with anyone with a disability, regardless of diagnosis or impairment severity, including those with high support needs. No previous sports experience is required.

We provide both one-on-one and group-based training, both in the field or pool or at the gym. Our qualified coaches are supported by medical doctors, psychologists, and dieticians.

Eligibility

Para START is for anyone with a disability. There is no minimum requirement of physical activity history. We work with people who are brand new to training, all the way up to people who are wanting to train for national and international competition. We also specialise in people with high support needs

Availability

We run year round. Monday to Friday, 8am to 5:30pm and Saturday mornings.

Pricing

Program cost is service dependant - Please contact us for a quote. Many of our participants utilise NDIS funding for their sessions. 

Our price structure will be individually tailored depending on the type and frequency of training.

Parking

Accessible parking is located at the back of the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences building. 
 

With high support needs athletes come high support costs. Your donation can assist these hard-working and dedicated athletes get the best training possible.
