Higher Degree by Research

Undertaking a Higher degree by research (HDR) program is an ideal way to kick-start an academic career or to add an extra edge to professional practice.

HDR students produce new knowledge and expertise that is innovative, relevant and progressive.

The HDR programs at UQ are the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).  You will be supervised by researchers internationally renowned in fields such as exercise physiology, sport science, physical activity and health, sensorimotor performance, pedagogy, sports coaching, and nutrition.    

Additionally, you have the opportunity to participate in our annual Postgraduate Research Conference where you will collaborate and learn from fellow HDR students and learn how their research is shaping the future.
