Program Details

The Mental Health, Ageing and Cancer Clinic is designed to encourage physical activity and help participants incorporate exercise into their long-term treatment plans. Our weekly 45-minute sessions are facilitated by third-year Clinical Exercise Physiology students and supervised by experienced accredited exercise physiologists in a private, fully equipped gym operated by The University of Queensland.

The program is held in April-May each year, is FREE and includes at least:

  • 2 assessments of aerobic fitness, muscle strength, cardiovascular health, balance and flexibility.
  • 4 individualised exercise sessions facilitated by third-year exercise physiology students and supervised by experienced exercise physiologists designed to improve your muscular strength and power, aerobic fitness and balance.
  • A personalised home exercise program to guide ongoing home-based exercise.

Availability

This program exclusively runs during April and May each year.
