The Queensland Centre for Olympic and Paralympic Studies was founded in the year 2000 by Honorary Associate Professor Ian Jobling to foster academic and community understanding about the Olympic Movement.
University of Queensland researchers have partnered with NBA champion Patty Mills’ not-for-profit program to boost sporting, educational and cultural pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young peoples.
This is a 3 day event to engage Queensland high-school students with legacy-building projects in the lead up to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The summit will be held at the University of Queensland in late November and is a partnership between the UQ Centre for Olympic and Paralympic Studies, St Johns College, Matthew Flinders Anglican College, and Wavell SHS.
