The free Type 2 Diabetes exercise clinic is an individually prescribed exercise clinic, facilitated by third year Clinical Exercise Physiology students and supervised by experienced Accredited Exercise Physiologists.

The goal of the clinic is to encourage physical activity and help participants use exercise as part of their diabetes management.

This year’s program will be run from the 7th – 28th October, is FREE and includes at least:

  • 1 assessment of aerobic fitness, muscle strength, cardiovascular health, balance and flexibility.
  • 3 individualised exercise sessions facilitated by third year exercise physiology students and supervised by experienced exercise physiologists designed to improve your muscular strength and power, aerobic fitness and balance.
  • A personalised home exercise program to provide guidance for ongoing home-based exercise.

Participants are asked to attend a one-hour session each week for six weeks.

Sessions will take place in a private, fully equipped gym operated by The University of Queensland.

Participants are required to fill out a medical history form (template provided) with relevant information to assist with exercise testing and prescription.

Free convenient parking will be available for all sessions.
