Research in high performance coaching and sporting organisations

Brisbane Broncos Rugby League Club Limited

Philanthropic funding from the Brisbane Broncos has permitted a deep dive into the functioning of high performance sports programs globally.

There has been great evolution regarding high performance systems in sport, with many sporting organisations continuing to invest in their programs with the aim of generating a competitive advantage. The trend towards professionalism has led to the formation of complex systems with multidisciplinary teams supporting the athlete or team to maximise performance. Findings from this international empirical review are highlighting principles of “best practice” that are underpinned by research. It has also been possible to engage deeply with the conceptual and pragmatic differences within and across industries (e.g., sport and business).

A variety of resources will be developed to help inform practices in high performance Australian sporting organisations.
