The annual postgraduate student conference has a rich history in providing up and coming researchers with an opportunity to present their current findings.

We welcome all students from all universities enrolled in postgraduate studies in the field of human movements and nutrition sciences to attend and collaborate with fellow researchers in your respective discipline. 

We look forward to seeing you all at the 2021 UQ HMNS Postgraduate Conference- Create, Connect, Collaborate - presented by Vald Performance, to be held on the evening of Wednesday 27 October at Vald and during the day of Thursday 28 October at UQ St Lucia campus. 

Details

Organized annually by the Postgraduate Student Committee, the conference aims to promote greater relationships, integration and collaboration between the diverse disciplines within the field of human movement studies and nutrition sciences.

This conference strives to provide postgraduate students in the field of human movement studies and nutrition sciences with a high quality conference in which students are afforded the opportunity to practice presenting in front of a large, supportive and interdisciplinary community, which gives constructive feedback. This conference therefore provides an invaluable opportunity for all postgraduate students to practice and extend their presentation skills (regardless of their progress within their research), while fostering and forming friendships with postgraduate students from The University of Queensland and other universities within Australia.

If video and/or sound is included in your presentation please make sure these files are also copied along with the presentation file to the storage device that you bring to the conference. The computer used for presentations at the conference is not connected to the Internet and thus cannot download any content off the Internet.

Format: 12 point, normal, Times New Roman, single line spacing, left align, English (AUS/UK), Word 2006 (.docx) format

Word limit: 250 words maximum

Author information: Presenter name, presentation title, affiliation (include School/Faculty/Department and University, plus any other affiliations (if applicable))

Submission: Email your abstract to Steph (s.duncombe@uq.edu.au), Laura (laura.hutchinson@uq.edu.au) and/or Jodie (j.koep@uq.edu.au). *Please include 'PGC Abstract' in subject line. 

No references, tables or figures should be included within the Abstract. Those abstracts that do not conform to the above conditions will be sent back to the author and asked to be edited to match these conditions.

Transport

We encourage all attendees to utilise public transport when travelling to the conference. Translink can advise suitable times when travelling by bus, train or ferry. 

There may be limited parking at Vald, but off-street parking is available.
