The free online metabolic exercise clinic is an individually prescribed exercise clinic, facilitated by third-year clinical exercise physiology students and supervised by experienced accredited exercise physiologists.

The goal of the clinic is to encourage physical activity and help participants use exercise as part of their weight loss and/or metabolic condition management.

What's included?

The program is free and includes, at minimum:

  • 1 free Fitbit Inspire HR (valued at $140).
  • 1 initial assessment conducted over telehealth (Zoom).
  • 5 online individualised exercise advice sessions facilitated by third-year exercise physiology students and overseen by experienced exercise physiologists designed to target your goals and/or condition management.
  • A personalised home exercise program to provide guidance for ongoing home-based exercise.

Who can participate?

This year’s program will be run from 12 September–24 October 2022.

Sessions can take place from your home. Participants are asked to attend a one-hour session via telehealth, accessible from anywhere, each week for six weeks.

Participants are required to fill out a medical history form (template provided will be provided) with relevant information to assist with exercise testing and prescription. Participants will also need to have correspondence with their GP and have access to a device capable of video calling and stable internet.
