First year students

Welcome to the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences. The first year will bring you face-to-face with a variety of new experiences and challenges, and a great opportunity to learn from your fellow students, many of whom come from every corner of the globe. Success in your program will be greatly assisted by effective time-management, application and through adapting to a co-operative teaching and learning environment.

The UQ HMNS Student Guide is an excellent reference for information regarding your specific program and some of UQ’s policies and procedures. The UQ and HMNS websites also provide important information regarding your program, our School and UQ more generally. We encourage you to study the guide and websites closely and contact our HMNS student advisory team or UQ’s student services if you have any questions.
