About the Centre for Research on Exercise, Physical Activity and Health
The Centre for Research on Exercise, Physical Activity and Health (CRExPAH) leads research in exercise, physical activity, health and wellbeing. The aim of this research is to build capacity for primary, secondary and tertiary prevention that will underpin improvements in health to create a physically active and healthy Australia. Research addresses issues relating to exercise, physical activity, health and wellbeing across the lifespan, in clinical and non-clinical populations, and in settings such as health services, workplaces, schools, universities, aged care and communities.
Our expertise include:
- Workplaces: patterns of activity and sedentary behaviour at work, organisational and work influences on employee health behaviour, workplace health promotion
- Non-communicable Conditions - exercise training and physical activity interventions for people with non-communicable conditions, such as kidney disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal conditions, cancer, obesity, organ transplants, and functional decline
- Mental Health and Psychosocial Wellbeing -wellbeing outcomes of exercise and physical activity, physical activity counselling and exercise training for people with mental illness, integrating psychological and physical activity counselling to promote wellbeing.
