Researcher biography

Catherine graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (first class honours) with a major in sport studies from the University of Queensland in 2017. Her honours thesis investigated media representations of football teams from Queensland Aboriginal settlements. Her PhD project aims to produce histories of two all-Aboriginal football teams, the Brisbane All Blacks (1940s-1960s) and the Brisbane Natives (1970s-present day) in collaboration with Aboriginal people. Catherine is also an undergraduate tutor and is involved in a range of projects including, most prominently, Students as Partners initiatives which seek to enhance student roles and voice in higher education institutions.
