
Researcher biography
Samantha graduated from a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Hons.) at Queensland University of Technology in 2016 and is an Accredited Practising Dietitian. Her honours research project investigated the relationship between obesity, malnutrition and pressure injuries in hospital inpatients and she was successful in obtaining oral presentations at the National Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) and Wounds Australia conferences in 2016. Samantha also completed a project as part of her community and public health practicum, which explored the use of a two-way text messaging service for delivering nutrition advice to older Australians living in the community. She has recently commenced her PhD research at The University of Queensland which aims to investigate the use of digital health strategies to improve the management of malnutrition across the healthcare continuum.
