
Researcher Biography
Ge GE earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences with a focus on Nutrition Studies from the University of Queensland, and then went on to complete a Master of Dietetics Studies in July 2017 and Master of Public Health in Nutrition in Dec 2018. She is an Accredited Practising Dietitian of the Dietitians Association of Australia. Ge GE is passionate about aged care foodservice, and aims to improve the quality of life of residents through advocating and introducing innovation in the growing field of aged care foodservice. During her post-graduate coursework at the University of Queensland, she undertook a project in the foodservice domain in aged care. The project specifically i) examined the factors which might influence the process of meal preparation employed in aged care menu planning and ii) determined the nutritional value, time, and total cost for the use of different meal preparation methods in aged care homes. Ge GE's current research is examining meal preparation strategies used in the aged care sector to improve choice and outcomes through foodservices. Ge GE’s expertise and passion also lies in recipe development and modification. She has been involved in implementing and planning food fortification projects, and fortified high protein high energy recipes for frail residents. She also enjoys writing healthy recipes particularly for East Asian cuisine and sharing the recipes on her WeChat friend-cycle/Blog.
