Podium finish for UQ in sport science puts Australia in winning position for 2032

Professor John Cairney Head of UQ’s School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences spoke with Brisbane Times about UQ being second in the world for sports related studies.

The results were released this week in the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

Professor Cairney said it was a testament to the broad range of work researchers from UQ had been doing in that field.

“There is a critical mass of scientists and researchers in my school, but it’s also across the university,” Professor Cairney said.

“What that reflects is an incredibly talented and deep network of researchers who can address pretty much any area of sports-related science.
